When I’m not riding around the world, I liven in Southern California just north of San Diego. There are two BMW motorcycle dealerships within 10 or so miles of my home. BMW Motorcycles of Riverside is 97 miles from my home.

This is who I trust to service my BMW F650GS Dakar. Don’t get me wrong, the more local dealer are both competent and professional, but it’s worth it to me to go to the service department of a dealership that is focused on adventure riding and is active in the adventure riding community. Owner Dan Schoo and his staff of service writers, sales, parts and accessories consultants, and most of all its mechanics and technicians are the best in Southern California.

BMW Master Tech Henry Delano has worked on my 10+ year-old motorcycle many times, his attention to detail, interest in my projects, and willingness to listen and understand my questions is unmatched. Darren Maddox is one of the most passionate parts and accessories managers I know and the rest of the staff (big shout out to Kile Miller my go to service manager) are fantastic.

They have supported my crazy endeavors, dreams and projects and I cannot thank them enough for the extra effort they have done for me—and for adventure riders all over the world.

I’m told they sell more GS motorcycles the most of all the dealers in the USA and that many riders in colder and weather challenged states will choose to purchase and service their bikes at BWM Motorcycles of Riverside. I know why.
