And I'm Off.

Jaime Madeline Hotel Colonialreal Sucre-2
Jaime and Madeline, hospitable owners of Hotel Colonia Real in Sucre.

An early start proved a bit too ambitious today. But in just a few moments I'll fire up Doc and find my out of Sucre and headed to Santa Cruz after a night in Vallegrande - the last stomping ground of Che Guevara (The Motorcycle Diaries). Leaving the Colonial Real Hotel was akin to long goodbyes from family and friends. As I packed my gear in my room I was interruped several times by staff and the children of the owners. They all wished me goodbye with smiles, hugs and kisses on the cheek. We even had to take the ubiquitous photos on the street. Jeremiah is getting antsy, and I'm comign to grips with the fact that journey now really begins -- again.

Let's go.

Here are a few photos from the last few days in Sucre:

I'm glad to hear that you are back on the road! I'm crossing into Colombia this week. The plan is to be in Ushuaia for New Year. Good luck and ride safe!
