It took a broken leg and a medivac return to the United States to get the first WorldRider PodCast up and published. Want to know why it took so long? You'll have to download it and listen.
Truthfully, this is really a non-official first PodCast here on WorldRider. I did this very quickly from my recovery bed using simply my Macintosh PowerBook G4 and a microphone and whatever software I found on my computer. But I'm inspired and will incorporate more stories, guests and phone in interviews from riders all over the world. So subscribe to WorldRider and enjoy the ride. James = You're right. I'm turning the corner!!! Feeling better every day. things are always looking up and forward...
Randy - I used my Macintosh 15" powerbook and connected an AKG 230 microphone to an AKG UHF 40 snap on transmitter and a UHF 40 receiver plugged into the mic input on the powerbook. A little wacky to do it this way, but it's all the gear I had hear at Angie's. Anyway, this is a wireless mic setup I use for hte camcorder. But I then used Apple's GarageBand to record the audio. Then used Audacity to compress and normalize the audio and brought that back into GarageBand, added the music and sound effects then exported the 15 minute piece to iTunes as an MP3 and bingo it was done. I had so much fun doing it that I'm going to get a better digital audio interface for the computer so that the voice level is a bit better.
So now you all know my voice! At some point I'd like to hook iChat up or even Skype and capture telephone style interviews or conversations with other riders and readers. STay tuned!

I've enjoyed reading your web site and check in every other day to catch the updates. So sorry to hear about your fall but glad that it hasn't wained your enthusiasm to continue on once you're fully recovered.
I just picked up a mint 2002 F650GS last week and having not ridden for 15 years I am looking forward to a few "adventure trips" myself.

Yeah, AK...I'm digging your podcast here! JB and I both have Skype, though it works a little wonky for me. Check out Gizmo as well...nice little app and uses open source standards. Skype has WAY more users though...Gizmo is getting there.
